Sources for restoration: "Juno Cesi" has been interpreted as an Amazon, a Muse, Persephone, and Juno. The restored cast can serve to supplement the cycle of Muses from Hadrian's Villa and the corresponding set from the Villa of Cassius in Tivoli (Sala delle Muse in the Vatican Museums). Both groups lack a Urania. The arms of the Capitoline statue are modern restorations. We restored them inspired by the coin minted in Rome by moneyer Q. Pomponius Musa. Urania stands and points a stylus at a globe (a motif found on later sarcophagi). The globe is incised with the zodiac from the Farnese Atlas.
