Roman Forum remastered + Info on Microsoft Store
The Rome Reborn: Roman Forum application has been completely remastered
Flyover Zone takes you to the world’s most extraordinary cultural heritage sites from the comfort of your home or school. Our virtual visits, or teletours, are led by experts in the field. On a teletour, you can visit the sites and monuments by moving around it and seeing the details up close, experiencing the visceral thrill of “being there.”
Flyover Zone’s teletours do more than take you to see the monuments as they look today. When they have been damaged or reduced to their foundations, we also show you stunningly beautiful virtual reconstructions of how they originally looked. The result is that you can go back in time and experience the world’s great heritage sites the way the ancients did. Visit historic places such as Rome, Athens, and Karnak just by turning on your phone, computer or VR headset – Flyover will teleport you there in an instant!
Flyover Zone is where virtual tourism meets virtual time travel…
Flyover Zone is an acknowledged world leader in the emerging field of virtual tourism (or, “teletourism”). Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 coronavirus, we have received shoutouts from media outlets such as the Smithsonian Magazine, Travelmag, Traveler Master, and Corriere della Sera.
Now there is an alternative way to travel to faraway places. For the price of a cup of coffee, you can take one of Flyover Zone’s many teletours to the great sights of world cultural heritage. You don’t just see the monuments: you learn about them from our expert guides. With a VR headset such as the Oculus Quest, Oculus Rift, or HTC Vive, you can even have fun fighting like a gladiator or racing a chariot in ancient Rome.
Otherwise, no special equipment is needed: our products run on laptops and PCs as well as on VR headsets.
Visit the Colosseum and nearby monuments on Flyover’s teletour. In addition to the Colosseum, see the Ludus Magnus (the gladiators’ training camp), the Temple of Venus and Rome (the biggest place of worship in the ancient city), the triumphal arches of Titus and Constantine, the monumental fountain known as the Meta Sudans, and–last but not least!–the Colossus of the Sun. The teletour has over 20 stops and takes about 2 hours.
Take a virtual hot air ballooon ride over ancient Rome and see Flyover’s complete digital reconstruction of the ancient city, the product of over twenty years of work by an international team of experts. Teleport from one end of the city to the other and learn about the principal monuments, urban infrastructure, geographical features, economy, religion, burial customs, and much much more. The teletour has 35 stops and takes about 2 hours.
Rome’s city center, the Roman Forum was the urban hub of streets, culture, politics, and religion. A visit to the Forum gives you an overview of the entire sweep of Roman history and institutions. Learn about the buildings and monuments as well as the leaders responsible for erecting them. Go inside the Senate House and atop the Rostra. Toggle between “then” and “now” views of the monuments. The teletour has 45 stops and takes up to 3 hours.
